Pridestaff is actively seeking a full time Food Maintenance Technician for its Fresno, CA location who will work with the maintenance team to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment.

The Maintenance Technician will work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and with the maintenance team to accomplish repairs and complete preventative maintenance on equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures, request special service as needed

  • Assist with renovations of existing facilities and construction of new facilities

  • Determines material, equipment and supplies to be used.

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance, upkeep and trouble shooting of equipment throughout the plant

  • Assist with designs new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones

  • Assist with improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, equipment layout

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with all federal and state regulations

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, training courses and conferences affiliated to their profession

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    Electrical

  • Basic electrical – voltage, amperage, resistance and power, conductors, circuits, voltage systems, transformers

  • Electrical distribution – transformers, installation, fusing, over current protection, NEC, wiring

  • Motor controls – motor starters, relays, sensors, programmable logic controllers, programmable limit switches, and variable frequency drives

  • Troubleshooting

    Mechanical

  • Mechanical assembly, alignment, bearings and seals, measurement, theory, fastener, and power transmission applications

    Hydraulics and Pneumatics

  • Basic operation and theory of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, installation, control devices, and actuation components

    Machinery

  • Lathe operation, milling machine operation, grinding, drilling, tapping, and lay out

    Welding

  • Mig, stick, oxy-acetylene, and Tig welding theory and techniques, sanitary welding

    Air Conditioning

  • Theory, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of small systems

    Programmable Logic Controllers

  • Theory and applications in programming and troubleshooting

    Boilers

  • Start-up procedures and operation, checking all system lines, checking water treatment

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school education or higher /must have formal education and training in the areas specified under “Essential Skills and Knowledge”

  • 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience required

  • Previous experience managing other maintenance personnel

  • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of all machinery and equipment
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, highly organized
    • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and professional at all times
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


  • Proficient at using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
    • Good math comprehension and skills
