New Jersey MENTOR is seeking a Psychiatric APN will provide clinical services to adolescents including initial and ongoing assessments,initial treatment and crisis plan development, and the prescription and ongoing management of medication.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Establish a therapeutic relationship with the individual receiving services to ensure effective guidance, support and service delivery for a minimum of .67 hours per week, per individual.

· Develop initial treatment and crisis plan within the first 24 hours of admission.

· Complete the intake Psychiatric assessment and report within the first week of admission.

· Perform monthly clinical visit with individual.

· Perform monthly clinical visit with family.

· Attend monthly medication management meeting(s).

· Attend monthly treatment team meeting(s).

· Provide 24/7 availability by contract.

· Maintain current progress and service notes and any other appropriate documentation in accordance with The MENTOR Network policy, program and State statutes and performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Possession of a degree of Doctor of Medicine from an accredited medical college or school supplemented by completion of a recognized residency program in Psychiatry or graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Advanced Practice Nursing, the authority to prescribe medication, and three years experience with psychiatric treatment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric principles, practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of prescribed medications and side effects.
  • Knowledge of supervisory techniques and practices.
  • Skill in interviewing individuals and families.
  • Ability to diagnose and provide treatment to individuals.
