The Production Supervisor is responsible for all personnel assigned to the respective product-lines. The Production Supervisor oversees daily production and manages inventory in a manner that ensures efficient quality production and timely delivery of existing and new/modified products.The Production Supervisor is responsible for shift operation, manufacturing processes, staff management and for ensuring smooth transitions between shifts.The Production Supervisor is also responsible for adequately planning and producing quality products and providing support for process improvement and new product development. Responsible for continuous improvement activities in areas under supervision.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute weekly production plan as per weekly schedule assigned by Manager and Planner
  • Manage inventory to insure quality, production and efficiency
  • Maintain adequate staffing and working hours to achieve effective manufacturing and control of products in compliance with all established manufacturing specifications and control procedures
  • Plan and direct training sessions to improve efficiency of technical staff and operators
  • Keep accurate training records
  • Interview and advises on hiring and firing
  • Evaluate performance of direct reports; take disciplinary action as necessary
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area that meets company, state and federal regulations
  • Provide support for the transfer of technology (product) to routine manufacturing in a regulated Food and Drug Administration (FDA) environment; evaluate new technologies and the pilot work that is required to assure minimum problems with initial and subsequent manufacturing
  • Direct special projects as assigned by Senior Supervisor or by Manager
  • Ensure all documentation reflects the state of compliance and control required by the QA and RA; maintain compliance with systems and regulations established by company, corporate, state, local and federal regulations
  • Ensure the timely release of products within specified lead times and minimal overtime in a manner that will not cause or propagate a back order situation
  • Provide concise and organized recommendations for corrective action when necessary
  • Work with other departments to coordinate action to resolve technical problems relating to raw materials or finished products to minimize rejects, back orders and field complaints
