Aerotek is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with Electrical experience for a permanent job with an international Tier 1 automotive supplier in Southern Indiana. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking for the next challenge in their engineering career!

Responsibilities for this job include:

  • Ensure that production processes meet/exceed budgeted performance targets
  • Responsible for new/altered equipment reviews, and modifying procedures
  • Ensure that all new products are launched successfully
  • Serve as primary contact for all new process launches in capacity of APQP engineer
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining APQP documentation
  • Manage major capital projects to bring them in on time and under budget (lead and finalize equipment layouts, manufacturing processes and submitting capital requests
  • Direct the work of outside contractors
  • Assist the program manager with quoting, design, procurement, engineering changes, tool design, and production implementation
  • Design develop, and modify production processes, products and equipment for cost effective operations (time/motion studies, process flow, SMED, plant layout)
  • Analyze process capability and production processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities

Successful candidates will have the following experience:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline
  • Automotive manufacturing/launch experience
  • Experience assisting in revising and developing standard operational work practices.
  • Background in design, develop, and modify production processes, products and equipment for cost effective and efficient operations (including time/motion studies, process flow, SMED, New Layout, etc.) and to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Experience facilitating effective utilization of root cause analysis methodology which includes, but is not limited to, Six Sigma tools, daily meetings, data collection, fish bone diagrams, 5-whys, brainstorming exercises, etc.
  • Background assisting in developing Standard Work, FMEA, Control Plans, WI's, and Quality documents
  • Robotic troubleshooting and programming (fanuc, motoman, ABB) - PLC troubleshooting/programming preferred (Allen Bradley)
  • Responsible to ensure SPC data is in control
  • Experience with non-woven, textile type materials manufacturing is a HUGE plus
