This position is responsible for the executing the shipping and receiving needs of TSG . The inventory passing through the Shipping and Receiving area is often valued in the multi-million dollar range requiring exceptional accuracy and rigorous adherence to TSG process standards. This position is one of substantial responsibility and independence as it is entrusted with ensuring that the TSG MS Dynamics SL system accurately reflects the actual state of TSG's inventory at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming goods to verify receipt of items against incoming packing slips as well as records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications. Requests engineering oversight for complex technical deliveries.
May inspect, accept, or reject goods received.
Inputs received items, labeled with appropriate inventory information and/ or barcodes, into MS Dynamics SL system and then stores received items in the assigned location in or around the warehouse as instructed by the Manager, Production and Logistics.
Coordinates outbound major shipments, including securing of appropriate insurance from Director of Finance and Operations with project and production teams. Alerts Manager, Production and Logistics when additional resources are needed to prepare outbound shipments to meet project milestones.
Creates packing listsfor all outgoing project shipments including equipment, materials, and TSG assets (such as site offices)and double checks to ensure the physical inventory of the shipment matches what is recorded in the MS Dynamics SL packing slip as well as is properly labeled for easy on-site deployment and/ or return processing by manufacturer.
Negotiates with and obtains quotes from qualified trucking firms for best price on outgoing shipments. Maintains a contact list of several qualified trucking companies that have been approved by the Manager, Production and Logistics.
Supervises major on-site deliveries when requested by the PM and approved by the Manager, Production and Logistics both to ensure contracted trucking firms perform as instructed as well as to help the project team organize delivered pallets and racks.
Supports AP in obtaining missing drop-ship receipt documentation for processing in MS Dynamics SL system when required.
Coordinates all incoming and outgoing packages with common carriers and courier services and maintain associated shipping logs.
Generates shipping and receivingreports as required for general and/ or project-specific reporting.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates the TSG forklift according to TSG training and safety standards.
Manages loading dock(s) for all incoming/ outgoing shipping and adherence to TSG requirements and safety standards.
Knowledge:
1. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to remain level-headed and professional in high-stress situations.
2. Above average organizational skills.
3. Able to learn new and department-specific software independently with average level training.
4. Average proficiency with MS Word and Excel required; familiarity with MS Dynamics SL a plus
5. Must be in good physical condition - position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling and lifting cumbersome and/ or heavy objects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years applicable shipping and receiving or warehouse experience required. A background in or relative technical experience in Broadcast; Tele/ Data; Fiber Optic; Sound & Audio Reinforcement, or Home/ Industrial AV systems is recommended.
