Next Generation Sequencing Associate

Required Skills

• Work within the Core Manufacturing Team to support DNA synthesis pipeline
• Carry out daily sample prep and library construction and work closely with internal and affiliate customers regarding NGS sample processing and data analysis.
• Perform routine maintenance of Miseq instruments.��
• Keep inventory of Miseq reagents and other laboratory supplies as required
• Closely follow established standard operating procedures.��
• Maintain documentation and records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Responsible for laboratory safety and housekeeping.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Experience

• BA/BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or related discipline with 2-5 years of experience in an industry or academia.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Exhibits strong initiative and able to switch priorities quickly to respond to laboratory needs.
• Hands on training in the operation of applicable laboratory equipment and techniques.��
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate records and notes, and the ability to carry out assignments in a thorough, conscientious fashion.��
• Conscious of safety requirements and applicable material handling methods including universal precautions for handling potentially bio-hazardous materials.
• Familiar with computational biology tools (BLAST, Vector NTI) a plus.
• Experience with NGS sample processing and data analysis a plus.
