Parts Design Programmer

Summary:

The ideal candidate has at least two (2) years’ experience as a programmer using SolidWorks and/or AutoCad. This person must be self motivated and be able to give specific instructions to the shop employees. The candidate must have strong communication and mathematic skills and must operate within company values, safety policy, quality policy and quality of work.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

This person is the first step in the ensuring the quality and effectiveness of each order. They will be required to communicate with the lead programmer and shop manager and the receptionist, while managing their work station with efficiency, safety and quality.



Job Requirements:

Someone in this position must be able to read and interpret customer drawings and produce basic shop prints and flat layouts. Also, must be able to use AutoCad and SolidWorks. The applicant should be familiar with nesting software to maximize material utilization. This role requires strong communication skills to conduct outreach with customers via email, phone or in person regarding designs.



Education &/or Experience:

It is not required but preferred that someone in this position has a High School Diploma or GED certificate. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a programmer with AutoCad and SolidWorks. Not required but preferred experience with Sigma Nest or similar nest programs is a plus.



Mathematical Skills:

The selected candidate should have good math skills and comprehension.
