As a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) you facilitate many Personal Care services in nature and often include assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s). Our team of CHHA’s is supervised by our Registered Nurse.
The primary responsibilities of a Certified Home Health Aide included the following:
  • Assisting with bathing, grooming, toileting and incontinence issues, transferring, positioning and mobility, oral hygiene, and assisting with special diet/meal preparation and feeding.
As a CHHA you are also considered as part of our CAREGiver staff.  You provide a variety of in- home services that allow seniors to remain in their homes. These services generally fall under the categories: Companionship/ Home Helper.
The primary responsibilities of CAREGiver/Home Helper service include but are not limited to the following:
Providing companionship and conversation, planning, preparing meals and cleaning up meal- related items, providing medication reminders, performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.), washing, folding and ironing laundry, running errands such as grocery shopping, social engagements, and accompanying clients to appointments.
While working with Home Instead Senior Care you may be asked to take on secondary responsibilities, these include but are not limited to the following:
  • Contributing to a positive living environment to enhance a client’s quality of life, utilizing time sheets, progress notes, chore charts, and CHHA time sheets. Regular communication with supervisor or office staff, Reporting any significant changes in a client’s needs or living conditions, and performing other reasonable duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: an individual must possess the minimum education, experience and skills to perform the primary and secondary responsibilities the job requires which include the following:
Possess a current driver’s license or other government issued Identification, current auto insurance, six references (not including family).  Individual must have a positive work history, be dependable, reliable, trustworthy, compassionate, and act in a professional manner.
Additional qualifications include: the ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach.  Withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions, and treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect.  Individual must have the ability to adapt to various living environments and locations, ability to communicate with clients in a friendly, respectful and congenial manner
Potential Qualifications: the CAREGiver position may require you to run errands and provide incidental transportation for a client using your vehicle or a client’s vehicle. The CAREGiver position provides opportunities for a variety of shifts, including overnights and weekends.  A minimum shift is 3 hours.
