What we do:

In 1970, several teachers from George Fox University saw a need in Newberg, Oregon and formed a nonprofit Christian service organization to offer assistance to adolescent girls. CYFS began with one twenty-four hour a day, seven days per week residential treatment program for delinquent girls. In 1976, the decision was made to provide residential services to boys and girls who were both emotionally and mentally challenged. The goal is to serve children whose relationships with their families are such that home placement is not feasible.

Now currently in our 44th year, we are operating four residential treatment homes with additional resources for our kids and our community such as mentoring, parent training, counseling, and supervised visitation for children and families. CYFS honors the importance of the family within healthy communities and a just society. We affirm the value of diversity and individual differences which enrich life. It is our mission to encourage and empower youth and their families to grow mentally, emotionally, spiritually and to reach their highest potential through training, counseling and treatment. CYFS understands the importance of family where we believe children and families can change and grow.
