Bindery Plant / Production Manager - Full-time / Part-time

We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Bindery Plant / Production Manager.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Bindery Plant / Production Manager Objective: Responsible for management of all plant production, maintenance, grounds and facility needs, as well as human resources management for the production, maintenance and plant management staff. Key Responsibilities: * Production: Direct and monitor all facility systems and procedures to ensure company goals are met or exceeded in production quantity, quality, speed, and efficiency. * Facility: Responsible for ensuring preventive maintenance of all company machinery, buildings, and surrounding grounds. Will also be responsible for ensuring all basic utilities, supplies, and security is kept in good standing and safe. * Human Resources: Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, reviews and motivating all direct subordinates in all managed departments. Maintain a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with all government laws and regulations. * Purchasing: Evaluate, acquire, maintain and control supply and binding materials inventory for all managed departments. * Planning: As a member of the corporate planning team, the Production Manager will be responsible for monitoring, defining, analyzing and implementing all corporate strategies and initiatives. * Safety: As a member of the safety committee the production manager will be held accountable for the safety analysis and procedures off all facility machinery, utilities, and as well as holding the maintenance team to the standards set by the company president. * Community Involvement: Represent the company in the community at local functions and events. Recognize and grow possible mentors and leaders of the business and community. This bindery company has been primarily a pre-binder of juvenile books for schools and libraries for over 60 years. The production facility is a hybrid flow / job shop. Shipments of titles arrive in a variety of formats and then are processed through in a precise and specific manner dictated by the ANSI / NISO / LBI standard. Over the past few years the bindery has been working on a more regular basis with Bookkrafter and will continue to grow this workload in the future.
