Description

WIS International has an immediate need for a Branch Manager in our Retail Merchandising Services division. Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, this position exists to recruit, hire, train, audit, and supervise Merchandising and Retail Services Representatives within a defined geographic area as well as to achieve both profitability and service goals in support of overall company objectives. Incumbent may supervise one or more Merchandising and Retail Services Team Leaders.

The Branch Manager will:

• Contribute to increasing WIS’ market share of existing accounts by developing schedules, cultivating customer relationships, resolving customer concerns and consistently delivering a high level of service branch-wide.

• Attract a quality flexible workforce through sourcing networks established by the incumbent, to properly hire them into the organization, and to provide them with quality training to complete the task(s) at hand utilizing a combination of company and customer produced training materials. Will conduct frequent field audits to verify work completion and quality.

• Ensure Merchandising and Retail Services Representatives are employed and trained to execute both regular cycled work and special projects by selecting; appraising, developing and motivating them in a manner which assures the proper type, quality and quantity of personnel assigned and comply with company equal employment opportunity objectives.

• Coordinate project completion process by maintaining frequent communication with subordinates and the Operations Manager, customer, as well as with the account management department, and Customer Support Center personnel.

• Monitor branch office progress by reviewing and producing reports that gauge progress toward the attainment of personnel, financial and service goals.

• Contribute to company growth efforts of new accounts by identifying potential new customers, assist in the sales of branch accounts, and occasionally act as the lead in sales of small local accounts, assist in determining customer service fees and work with account management to set up the process for new accounts.

• Reduce Workers’ Compensation expenditures by promoting and participating in safety awareness and accident prevention programs and by creating a culture of safety practices in the workplace, carrying out appropriate corrective actions procedures to avoid legal costs and training and enforcing fair employment practices among all employees.

This position normally requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related curriculum. Knowledge of financial statements, applicable labor and fair employment laws as well as knowledge of word processing and spread sheet software (i.e., Excel), is essential. Must be highly knowledgeable about the technical nature of the merchandising business and have a thorough understanding of its processes in order to ensure balance and effectiveness.

Experience:

Normally requires a minimum of two to three years of experience in Consumer Product Group merchandising or similar field representative or retail experience. Experience in effectively managing and leading large numbers of hourly employees in a service related industry. Also necessary experience in successful team building, geographically dispersed staff, customer relations, employee performance management, and sales and personal computer operations.

Skills:

• Ability to ensure high quality, profitable service levels through effective and efficient execution of services and to meet customer expectations and needs including efficient, productive techniques.

• Ability to establish and maintain recruiting sources to ensure sufficient specialty representatives are available to complete the varied tasks assigned.

• Ability to select, hire, train, and develop subordinates to ensure the successful performance of their principal duties and responsibilities.

• Ability to effectively communicate with subordinates; management and external customers to ensure proper coordination of the project completion process.

• Ability to track progress and measure results against financial and service goals.

• Ability to identify potential new customers, develop rapport with customers to increase sales of branch accounts and assist in determining service fees.

• Ability to ensure safety of all employees at all times whether in the office, travelling or while providing services.

** Incumbent must have reliable transportation in order to travel to various customer sites to manage the merchandising process. Must have a valid driver’s license and sufficient insurance coverage. Must pass an MVR check by WIS standards
