Primary Responsibilities



  • Create/maintain business requirements for systems supporting the Medicare Advantage Bid development

  • Assist with the maintenance UHC's internal Medicare Advantage Bid pricing model

  • Assist in the design and development of Excel/VBA, SAS and SQL programs required in the development of the Medicare Advantage Bid process

  • Coordinate with other teams both internally and externally involved with the process

  • Work efficiently with large data sets (1 M+)

  • Independently research questions and provide input and suggestions for system sustainability, programming, new processes, etc.

  • Develop new programs and queries to run analytics

  • Run, monitor, and adjust software jobs to ensure appropriate completion

  • Identify and help solve potential program/data problems ensuring appropriate follow through and resolution

  • Ensure sufficient documentation is available and provided to support audits including current/historical documentation of programming and system changes

  • Independently perform analyses of issues, participate in development of potential solutions, and make recommendations to ensure accurate and timely resolution

  • Recommend and drive process improvements

  • Work is self-directed and not prescribed

  • Serves as a technical resource to others

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree in finance or information technology (or related field) or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of experience working in a corporate environment

  • Advanced or better level of proficiency with MS Excel, Including Excel VBA, and Macros

  • Proficiency in SAS and SQL Server

  • Participation in the development/maintenance of models

Preferred Qualifications:



  • SAS or SQL Programmer Certification

  • Previous experience with Medicare and/or the health care insurance industry
