Mechanic - Full-time / Part-time

LOCATION: Hillsboro, OR

SALARY: $13-$15 hour

JOB DESCRIPTION: Hillsboro company seeking to add to their maintenance team! Primary functions: Maintain and repair all warehouse equipment while following the standards set forth in the company Mission Statement, the company Policies and Procedures Handbook, and the company Safety and Health guidelines. • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure that machines and rolling stock run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. • Must have basic combustion engine knowledge of troubleshooting and installing alternators, starters, lights, ignition systems, timing, brake systems and fuel systems. • Must be willing to learn welding, oxy acetylene cutting, grinding, basic hydraulics and basic electrical. • Must be able to work alone as well as in a team atmosphere. • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery or equipment. • Document type of maintenance or repair work. • Maintain a safe and clean work area. • Must be available to work overtime and perform “on-call” responsibilities to accommodate schedule changes. • Willing to perform other incidental duties as required and assigned by management. Skills and attributes: • Basic mechanical experience or technical/trade school preferred. • Willing to grow as a mechanic. • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. • Have basic math and computer aptitude. • Possess strong customer service skills. • Convey information effectively. • Must be able to work in elevated surfaces and confined spaces. • Be able to maintain composure in a stressful work environment. • Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. • Willing to participate in job enhancement continuing education. Physical requirements: • Working in an outdoor/warehouse and office environment may require some repetitive mechanical and office machine work. • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, climbing stairs, standing, kneeling, twisting, vision, hearing, talking. • Must be able to lift 49lbs unassisted
