The Senior Financial Analyst on the UHC - C&S revenue team  will be responsible for the revenue reporting, analysis, invoicing, reconciliation and revenue accounting activities for the health plan. Responsibilities will also include membership and revenue reconciliations, mid month and month end revenue and membership projections, support for monthly financial closings, financial analyses and reporting.


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • Manage and review the monthly financial reconciliations related to various revenue sources for the health plan
  • Lead the process to resolve the exceptions coming out of membership and revenue reconciliations in partnership with the enrollment operations and the health plan
  • Recommend accounting entries to the general ledger and set up of accruals/ reserves based on the monthly reconciliations
  • Manage the monthly billing and accrual process for different revenue sources to ensure accurate financial results within established timeframes
  • Research and evaluate trends and variances in health care revenues and receivables
  • Leverage technology to add controls  and eliminate  risk from financial processes
  • Prepare reports and analyses as required in support of the monthly financial closing process and ongoing financial activities
  • Develop policies and procedures for the revenue operations group in consultation with the management
  • Participate and help in the standardization of revenue analysis and accounting processes across the organization
  • Prepare analyses required to support timely collection of accounts receivable
  • Provide internal service and support to project managers and field finance leads on various  revenue related financial issues

Requirements


Required Qualifications:



  • BS/BA in accounting, finance or equivalent field
  • 2+ years progressive work experience in finance and accounting
  • Variance analysis and reconciliation experience with large data sets
  • Intermediate Excel including extensive use of pivot tables working with large data sets
  • Beginning MS Access - working knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and effectively influence others

Preferred Qualifications:



  • CPA and/or MBA
  • PeopleSoft and Essbase experience
  • Finance experience in a service, consulting or health  insurance industry
  • Medicaid experience
  • Strong computers skills including experience with data  warehouses, relational  databases, or structured query language (SQL)
