This opportunity will allow you to gain valuable professional experience within an industry leading company. The student would learn how our premier telecommunications company operates while gaining invaluable legal experience. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a first or second year law student part-time for our Law Department.
This opportunity to work with us is part-time during the school year starting with this Spring semester. Timing may be affected by the planned merger of Comcast and Time Warner Cable.
The student will be asked to come into our offices for a brief orientation and training in late April (for a few hours). Time off in May for exams is no problem.
Essential Job Functions:
Largely focused on supporting the bankruptcy processing function including liens, levies, 20-day notices, and possibly garnishments, will include PACER and LexisNexis research. Might also assist lawyers and other professionals with projects as needed in a variety of legal areas including:
• Programming deals and projects
- Regulatory including FCC and franchise matters
- Litigation including marketing and compliance
- Employment including labor relations and litigation
- Intellectual property including patents and trademark
- Corporate including M&A, transactions and securities
Required Skills:
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Well organized and detail oriented with ability to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in team setting
Education and Experience:
- Top-tier academic background
- Must be currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor degree program completing the first or second year Spring semester, in a New York City area law school
