Jr Maintenance Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Junior Maintenance Engineer for our new upscale property in Redwood City area where residents will enjoy resort-class amenities including, clubroom and concierge. In this role your day-to-day responsibilities include responding to tenant service calls for repairs, maintaining exterior & common area lighting and working on HVAC repairs, performing general apartment maintenance and other minor maintenance functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Complete guest work orders in a prompt and efficient manner
• Able to use power tools effectively
• Perform repairs on heating, cooling and plumbing equipment
• Respond quickly and be courteous to guest needs
• Replace fixtures and perform basic electricity functions
• Perform painting tasks including: removing and installing drywall patch. Apply and/or remove caulking on vacant apartments to turn units promptly
• Deliver and/or remove furnishings from apartments as needed
• Routinely participates in preventative maintenance programs
• Provide maintenance service after hours and will need to be available after hours requests
• Maintains grounds safe during extreme weather conditions
• Completes daily assigned responsibilities and provide guests excellent customer service
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• HVAC Certification preferred
• General knowledge of mechanics and maintenance
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Flexible schedule required
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks
• Previous hotel/apartment experience a plus
• Must have excellent interpersonal communications skills for daily contact with guests
