Alcoa Fastening Systems Sylmar Operations Job Title: Plater I Department: Plating Reports To: Plater Lead FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Prepared By: Stephany Debski Prepared Date: 3/19/13 Approved By: Approved Date: Summary This position covers those employees who wrap mask and rack parts for plating processes, and assist in tasks of plating surface treating of ferrous and non ferrous metals and alloys. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Works under direct supervision/guidance. Places items for plating in baskets or wire racks or other holding devices. Masks parts by wrapping with tape, dipping in wax, plastic, etc. Moves parts as required to next operation. Dries or bakes parts, checks dimension using ring gauge. May spray paint with air gun to mask part. May apply protective coating to finished part. Responsible for own work/workmanship standard compliance. Follows established housekeeping standards. Requirements Ability to read and communicate in English. Satisfactory completion of MSDS training. Satisfactory completion of pulmonary function test. Possess good hand/eye coordination.
