JOB SUMMARY:

A “Rover” is an “on-call” Security Guard who agrees to be eligible for work duty twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. A Rover will be paid at a pay rate that is above the average Security Guard pay rate, due to the inconvenience of being on call and the large amount of training and expertise involved in the position. A Rover is the number one (1) scheduling priority to be given forty (40) hours each pay cycle week.

A Rover is allowed to request a “Safe Day” during the pay cycle period. The Rover will not be called for any reason on his/her “Safe Day”. The Rover will also be allowed a “Safe Weekend”. The “Safe Weekend” must be coordinated at least fourteen (14) days in advance with the Operations Manager.

A Rover is required to return phone calls to Operations Managers/Field Supervisors within thirty (30) minutes of receiving the call. Once notified that there is a call-off or open post, the Rover will report to the designated shift as quickly as possible, but no later than one hour from being given the shift details. A Rover may be required to report from one post to another, due to additional requirements. A Rover, as with other Security Guards, will very rarely be asked to work more than twelve (12) hours at a time and will have a minimum of an eight (8) hour break in between shifts.


JOB SKILLS AND COMPETENICIES REQUIRED:
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs.
  • Ability to walk/stand extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions.
  • Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.
  • Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Must embody U.S. Security Associates’ values as a highly visible representative of the branch and set high standards for him/her and others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid Arizona State Security Guard Unarmed & Armed License (We will train qualified and accepted applicants).
  • Must have and maintain a current telephone number.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening, background check and reference check.
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S.
