Five Guys is currently seeking ambitious, energetic, candidates for our Shift Manager opportunities. As a Shift Manager, you will begin by learning the ropes including our philosophies on customer service and quality food products. We will also provide you with the tools to develop you in your role as a leader while working with team members and management to create a fun and exciting growth­oriented work environment.

Skills and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous restaurant and/or shift management experience preferred
• Professional communication skills both oral and written
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to lift up 50 pounds
• Basic computer knowledge (Excel/spreadsheet knowledge preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and problem­solving skills
• Approximate 40 hour work week
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, and some holidays
• Ability to relocate a plus!

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Create a positive and team­oriented atmosphere which promotes learning and having fun
• Ensure every guest receives outstanding products and service in a timely manner
• Employee coaching and development
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation
• Assist with inventory, ordering and processing deliveries
• Ensure all areas of the restaurant are in proper operation
• Assist in the interview, new hire and training processes
• Maintain excellence in food quality by upholding all recipe and product specifications
• Foster a positive and growth­cultivating work environment

About Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Five Guys started in the Washington, DC area in 1986, when the Murrells posed two options to their four sons: start a business or go to college. The business route won and the Murrell family opened a carry-out burger joint in Arlington, Virginia. Five Guys now has over 1200 locations across North America and still growing!

Five Guys is known for its simple and fresh menu. Even with only a few items on the menu there are over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys. We use only fresh ground beef and our fries are cut fresh daily and cooked to order in peanut oil. There are no freezers at Five Guys, only coolers. Nothing is ever frozen.
