Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, and the day-to-day direction of a registered Pharmacist, performs technical functions regarding pharmaceutical preparation and distribution. These activities include but are not limited to: unit dose cassette fill, unit and Physician order fill, label production and IV admixture, charge reconciliation of patient billing documents, audits supplies on nursing units, and preparation of medications. May be involved in preparation and stacking of medication for automated dispensing cabinets on nursing units. May stock and distribute other pharmacy supplies. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician License within one year of hire preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Satisfactorily completion of a formal technician training program or equivalent.
