About this job

Keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary, and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, and using germicides and dusting. Ensures work station and equipment are neat and clean; works under supervision.

Accountable for adhering to BCCH mission, including meeting behavioral expectations (compassion, caring and confidentiality), providing excellence in health care delivery, supporting dignity of all persons (empowerment) and responsible stewardship of resources.

Dusts all surfaces that collect dust, excluding electronic and computer systems. Removes all trash from area and clean all furniture and metal porcelain fixtures in patient rooms and bathrooms or other areas assigned.

Cleans up spills.

Maintains equipment for cleanliness and cleans work cart and re-stocks as needed. Reports all repairs that need to be done in the area they are working in.

Makes detergent-germicide solution according to formula.

Collects linen, hang drapes and cubicle curtains and perform other duties as may be assigned.

In case of fire or disaster inside or outside the Hospital, performs assigned duties.

Follows guidelines that maintain safety for oneself, patients, visitors and co-workers and if classified as a category I or II employee under OSHA regulations, adheres to OSHA standards by wearing personal protective equipment, following universal precautions and being knowledgeable about blood borne pathogens.

Does not pose a direct threat or risk to the safety and health of themselves and other employees.

Performs other duties as may be assigned.
