CME Coordinator

Menorah Medical Center , a 158-bed, acute care hospital located on the corner of 119th and Nall in Overland Park, serves our community’s healthcare needs by providing compassionate care and some of the most advanced treatment options available in the Kansas City area. MMC has a comprehensive medical staff with more than 600 physicians who offer exceptional experiences and extraordinary medicine for adults, newborns, children and teens.

Menorah Medical Center is currently looking for a CME Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

This position involves a variety of routine manual/clerical, and decision-making skills related to the continuing medical education program and handling of library materials and requests. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Medical Staff Services. The following is an overview of responsibilities:

Maintain ACCME accreditation with commendation, establishing new and updated policies, procedures and practices as needed to maintain such.

Direct the overall educational program for the CME office and maintain the office’s vision and strategic plan.

With direction from the CME Committee, conduct needs assessments and gap analyses, apply principles of adult education to CME design, and develop educational outcomes measurement tools and processes to assist Menorah Medical Center physicians in delivering the best quality of care to patients.

Provide expertise and recommendations to the CME Committee in the design of innovative educational programs.

Proactively promote the value of CME department’s contribution to achieving quality improvement and hospital system goals and priorities.

Responding to written or verbal library requests, maintenance and shelving of library journals and books.

Qualifications:

Computer knowledge to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with audio-visual equipment utilization.

Ability to perform internet searches, library searches, and have some data analysis experience. Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Continuing Medical Education position or a directly related field.

The CME Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to ensure accreditation of the CME program, supports physician education activities, provides annual reports, and prepares for and participates in on-site surveys, supports CME activities’ compliance to Kansas Medical Society (KMS) and other state/federal regulations, hospital by-laws, Specialty Board requirements, etc.
