Department Assistant: Patient Registration and Scheduling

I. Position Summary:

Under direction of the Office Manager/Director performs patient registration and scheduling along with clerical and receptionist activities for the Oncology/Hematology and Infusion Therapy Services

II. Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

B. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.

C. Experience: Six months of clerical/technical experience.

D. Special qualifications: Computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel; word processing skills; Knowledge of Medical Insurance specifically certification/re-certification; Customer Service; Knowledge of spelling, punctuation, grammar and basic math. Basic understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations commonly used. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work under stress and multi task
