Job Description:
The Dishwasher/Food and Nutrition Services Worker performs a variety of tasks that facilitate the provision of food services and nutrition support to patients, employees and visitors. These duties include:
Primary responsibility of this position is operating a commercial dishwasher and tasks associated with cleaning and sterilizing of culinary equipment
Performs routine duties as needed related to the preparation and serving of food
On an as needed basis prepares food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items
Cleans kitchen work areas, collects and disposes of garbage.
May assist with stocking food items in the storeroom on the tray line
Serves food in the cafeteria for visitors and staff and in patients room following dietary, sanitary and safety guidelines as requested
Works on patient tray assembly line as needed, following menu directives for determining food items for each tray
Delivers food trays to patient areas
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
6 months of recent food service production experience is required
Previous experience in hospital food services is preferred
