Qualifications:

Officers should be physically fit. Officers will be conducting active foot and or bicycle patrols.
  • Professionals with Associates or Bachelor’s degrees preferred.
  • 5-8 years of security related experience with the last 3-4 years of experience being in a corporate security environment.
  • All candidates must be able to work unsupervised and have experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • All candidates must be able to work and act in a professional manner while interacting with the public and local businesses.
  • Candidates should have the ability to work in changing environmental conditions.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills and have the ability to multitask.
  • All applicants must have an excellent driving record.
  • All applicants must be computer literate and have the ability to work with Microsoft Office programs, open and close computer programs, as well as having basic computer knowledge.


Other Necessary Skills/Experience:
  1. Must have telephone and two way radio etiquette
  2. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills demonstrated through both oral and written communications e.g. report writing and follow up communications.
  3. Sound judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
  4. Surveillance Skills / General CCTV monitoring experience.
  5. Vehicle Patrol Experience. (Must have valid Michigan License and good driving record)


Job Responsibilities:
  1. May conduct special survey reports as needed: Alternate Measures, Streetlight, graffiti, trash, etc.; and, complete accurate reports for timely submission.
  2. Ability to efficiently type, scan, copy, and electronically file documents.
  3. Obtain preliminary information on criminal activities in the patrol area, including but not limited to thefts, suspicion of theft, and damage to or destruction of property, material, or equipment.
  4. Maintains contact with local law enforcement as needed.
  5. Attend required meetings and assist in the preparation and/or presentation of material.
  6. Prepares daily written reports covering previous 24-hour activities. Notes observations and recommendations, reviews for accuracy and completeness, highlights important entries.
  7. Involved with Continuous Improvement
  8. Ability to convert team activities into actionable items of their shift focus
  9. Prepares concise and thoughtful daily written summary reports covering previous 24-hour activities.
  10. Communicates to the Project Manager and/or Security Site Manager frequently, offers input and suggestions as appropriate.
  11. May schedule, coordinate, and/or supervise work assignments and duties of officers; interact with potential future fusion center.
  12. Works with employees and organizations to identify and address specific security needs.

Position based in a Command Center and Corporate Patrol Vehicle. Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment

This includes having a criminal background evaluation, being able to show valid identification, and be able to pay the State Security License fee that is required.   • Must comply with USA appearance standards:
  • Your hair must be neatly cut and groomed. Hair will be cut short enough or styled sufficiently to prevent it from standing out when the uniform cap or hat is worn or from extending below the top of the shirt or jacket collar.
  • Refrain from wearing earrings, necklaces or jewelry worn in the nose, eyebrows, lips, tongues, or other extremities by men or women while on duty.
  • Your face must be clean-shaven except that neatly trimmed mustaches may be worn unless there is a client requirement prohibiting them (such as interfering with the wearing of special safety masks, etc.). Reasonable accommodation based on race, religious belief or for disability will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • All uniformed security officers must furnish their own black shoes (plain toed, suitable for wearing with a uniform) and furnish their own black socks. All shoes must be maintained in good condition.


As a USA security officer, you may be expected to perform one or more of the following essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation:
  • Be able to work overtime and on various shifts as needed; including weekends and holidays. Reasonable accommodation based on religious beliefs or disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Be able to maintain accurate records
  • Effectively comprehend numerous policies, procedures, and concepts in order to respond appropriately to various situations
  • Communicate effectively with others
  • Walk up and down stairs
