DISH’s Quality Assurance team ensures compliance with DISH’s desired levels of quality and service.  State-of-the –art QA facilities in El Paso, TX, Spartanburg, SC, Suwanee, GA and Denver, CO use statistical sampling, and advanced quality assurance engineering tools to validate DISH hardware streams before distribution to customers.

EDUCATION-EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 years related experience, including experience with electronic equipment in a repair, production/manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One-year of previous work experience using a computer.

 

SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Must have good written, verbal and typing skills.

Capable of using Windows and Window applications.

Must be capable of using hand tools.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Forklift certification is a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

SUMMARY:         

Responsible for ensuring that departmental production and quality standards are met.

 

Overtime is mandatory and must be flexible.

Schedule may vary based on inbound volume.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Cosmetic Certification Training is required for position, if not already obtained.
  • Responsible for auditing set top boxes to ensure they meet all required Cosmetic criteria and specifications. 
  • Distributes results to supervisor and management.
  • Ensures that all equipment and the surrounding area are neat, clean and well organized.
  • Brings all parts shortages, equipment, procedural and personnel problems to the attention of management.
  • Keeps necessary written or computerized logs and records as requested.
  • Must be able to perform a pre-shift and mid-shift stretch routine
  • Must lift 6 to 45lb. receivers with a maximum frequency of every 58 seconds
  • Tilt, rotate & turn each receiver
  • Listen for rattling pieces inside the receiver
  • Perform a visual inspection on receivers
  • Must be able to press buttons on the receivers multiple time
  • Walk between 6-30 feet to place a single receiver onto a pallet
  • Lowest receiver location on a pallet is 4” off the ground
  • May also place receivers on racks, depending on the receiver’s disposition
  • Racks have 6 to 8 shelves, with the lowest shelf 1’ above ground and highest shelf 5’ feet above ground
  • Work stations are 30 to 35 inches above ground
  • Must have the ability to read, comprehend and execute on computer prompts
  • Ability to stand for the entirety of the 10 hour shift (Note that all functions are standing; there are no seated positions
  • Bending, twisting to place product on pallets or shelves
  • Certain other materials handling duties may be required, such as stocking replenishing tray foam
  • Tray foam weighs 2-3 lbs. per piece, and is 20” x 48” x 4”
  • Pull an empty pallet from a stack to a floor location
  • Simple and firm grasping with both hands
  • Full pallets weighing up to 400 lbs. are required to be moved with a pallet jack and transported up to 100’
  • Other duties as assigned
