Discover Home Loans is looking for an outstanding, customer-oriented Refinance Mortgage Banker to join our team! The Mortgage Banker’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform complex sales related duties: receive mortgage leads, convert them into committed applications
• Effectively convey programs and products to consumers
• Market products and programs, selling the consumer on the benefits of the product and program compared to the competition
• Verify the application calculations for underwriting purposes, including Loan to Value Calculations, Debt to Income Ratios, Length of time at Residence, Length of time with Employer, Disposable Income, etc.
• Resolve loan qualification problems with the consumer prior to application submission
• Respond to and resolve consumer questions and inquires, acting as a liaison between lender and consumer.
• Coordinate and develop lead pipeline management activities within a contact management system
• Effectively meet and/or exceed monthly goals established by management.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Experience / Training / Education:

• 3 Years experience in mortgage sales preferred
• Active state loan originators licenses preferred
• General knowledge of laws and regulations, RESPA, HMDA and related acts
• Knowledge of Conventional, Jumbo and Conforming loan products
• The ability to obtain Loan Officer License(s) as laid out in the company licensing guidelines

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within mortgage field
• Thorough working knowledge of all mortgage products, guidelines and market conditions
• Ability to articulate and convey information to the borrower
• Ability to meet deadlines and follow through
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer skills: thorough working knowledge of intermediate MS Word, intermediate to advanced MS Excel, intermediate to advanced MS Outlook, intermediate knowledge of Internet
• Ability to work under pressure of multiple deals/applications and deadlines
• Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes
• Ability to interpret and apply required policies and procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must possess positive attitude and have good work ethic
