Machine Operator - Full-time / Part-time

We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Machine Operator.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Manpower is currently hiring a Machine Operator for one of our clients in Beltsville, MD! This is a 2nd shift position that pays $17/hr. SUMMARY: Candidate must be capable of setting-up and operating CNC mills. Produce and check quality of finished parts. Must also possess a basic understanding of blueprint drawings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Be able to perform minor set-ups and operate multiple machines, to execute a sequence of operations such as turn, drill, and bore a variety of metal components. 2. Fully understands production routers a. Material types, lot numbers and quantity required b. Router sign-off procedures c. Cutter verification stamps and SPC data entry 3. Can identify inserts, cutters and general tooling for specific operations 4. Identify Materials and AMS specifications. 5. Be able to perform basic setup 6. Use all machines commands and controls 7. Understands and maintains UPL boards data. 8. Work in different cells in the factory 9. Perform all 5S+ activities and keep immediate work area clean and free from hazards. 10. Dedicate a minimum of one hour a week on continuous improvements activities. 11. Maintain cell charts 12. Load program from DNC to machines. 13. Capable of interpreting technical drawings in accordance with standard shop practices. 14. Must be capable of making offset adjustments and performing minor program edits. 15. Ability to safely and accurately setup and use a wide variety of hand tools and gages. 16. Work in accordance with general safety rules and practices. 17. Responsible for finished parts conformity to print or specification. 18. Participate in continuous improvement of processes. 19. Fully complies with ethical policies of the company 20. Perform other related duties as assigned. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: PROCESSES and EQUIPMENT: Operate machines, and any other calibration equipment such as calipers, Allen wrench, and air gun or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: *Candidate must be at least 18 years old, able to read, write, and speak English. *1 year of experience. *Basic mathematical skills required. *High school diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires lifting a minimum of 25lbs or up to 50lbs on a daily basis, as well as standing on feet up to 8-10 hours per day. Constant use of hands is essential.
