Aerotek Scientific is currently seeking a Processing Circulator to work for our client, a donor services company, in Nashville.

Position Description - Provides support to Processing Technicians in a clean room environment. Properly handles human tissue, surgical instruments, power equipment, chemical reagents and biohazardous waste according to standard operating procedures, applicable AATB standards and FDA regulations. Assists with preparing reports and records of processing, including graft and anatomical identification and measurements. May assist in research requiring manipulation of tissues and equipment. May assist in CSS activities. Safely handles human tissue for transplantation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides support to Processing Technicians during all processing events. Supports includes helping processors with pulling supplies for daily events, helping processors with room and hood set up, assisting the tissue centrifugation and fluid changes, pulling additional supplies and checking on rooms and hoods on regular basis. Handles tissue according to standard operating procedures.
  • Helps establish and maintain sterile environment within a clean room or laminar flow hood. Breaks down, decontaminates, and disinfects clean room environment.
  • Transfers packaged and labeled graft materials and materials for discard and disposal. Assist with completion of processing chart work and entering processing information into DOTS, and testing requisitions.
  • Participates in cleaning schedule to ensure the clean room, hoods and inner core areas are well maintained.
  • Assists in coordinating inventory, receiving and stocking operational supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent. Medical or technical training preferred. Prior experience in tissue banking preferred. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
