SHIFT: 8HOUR, Day EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part Time HRS PER PAY PERIOD: 48 JOB ID: 1400025042
The Dignity Health Stroke Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing services and activities related to the Stroke Services Center. This position functions as a liaison between physicians, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, patients and their families to coordinate and facilitate the care of the stroke patient throughout the continuum and to ensure the clinical care path is followed as appropriate.
The Stroke Coordinator participates in program development as it relates to the Stroke Center. This includes, but is not limited to staff education, community education and marketing. The Stroke Coordinator is also responsible for planning, developing and implementing Stroke Center initiatives including quality, safety, service and efficiency strategies into the plans, policies, and organizational processes that affect the Stroke Center’s operations, strategic direction and certification.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Current State RN License
Current BLS; ACLS preferred and may be required within 12 months of hire into this position
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years of critical care experience including care of stroke patients or neuroscience clinical required; five (5) years experience in these areas is preferred
Working knowledge of performance improvement, licensure and regulatory/accreditation requirements
Experience working in a Certified Primary Stroke Center is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated skills for teaching; organizing, planning and establishing objectives; data analysis and action planning; developing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present to a wide variety of audiences (C-Suite, clinical/nonclinical staff, patients and their families, community)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet required
the ability to be self-motivated and effective problem-solving techniques
