Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN), Correctional Facility (CF), under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse II, CF, is responsible for providing basic nursing care to inmates incarcerated in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. This includes assessments, triage, scheduling, patient education, and emergency response coverage. Performs Health Care related duties consistent with the RN Scope of Practice. A detailed duty statement is available on request. Special Requirement: Possession of a current license as Registered Nurse in California.

We are canvassing to establish an On-Call limited term intermittent Registered Nurse support pool. These positions will be limited to 1,500 hours per calendar year. They will be used to perform duties in various areas throughout the CDCR Institutional Medical Departments. Limited Term Intermittent Employee’s (L.I.E) are paid by the hour and there is no absolute guarantee of total number hours of work to be made available. The amount of work an individual intermittent employee may receive is contingent on availability of work and funds. A L.I.E. can work a maximum of 1500 hours in 12 months.
