Job Description
Create visual representations for products and services offered by Rockwell Automation. Work within a technical writing group to provide product illustrations for use in technical publications.
Tasks
Use ProE to manipulate engineering models to be used as line art.
Use Adobe Illustrator to create final artwork.
Assist staff technical writers in learning best practices to simplify drawings and reduce file size.
May become involved in graphic design of pre-sale, selection guide content; collaborating with technical writer and marketing personnel on new ways to represent product information for customers.
Effectively manage project schedules according to both planned and changing business needs.
Track work in SharePoint and SAP.
Work Environment
This is an on-site assignment where the illustrator is located within a group of 6 technical writers.
Staff is self-directed for day to day work. Responsible to manage own workload and prioritize activities.
Collaboration and participation in meetings is expected.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent of 5 years of experience in illustrating
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in manipulating engineering CAD models and creating technical illustrations. Proficient with CAD software and Adobe Illustrator.
Desired Qualifications
Additional Software Proficiency: ProE (Creo 2), SAP, Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, and Acrobat; Microsoft SharePoint a plus
Location
Works at the Mequon campus to complete projects to support PowerFlex Architecture-class AC Drives
