POSITION PURPOSE
-

The Home Depot is looking for a motivated individual who wants to be part of one of the largest, most aggressive supply chain transformation teams, a team that is responsible for ensuring The Home Depot is the Supply Chain leader in the Retail Space.
The Supply Chain Logistics Developer should have at least 1 year of experience in Java development.

The Supply Chain Logistics Developer should have the ability to take business requirements and develop the technical design for an application to be run in a production environment. Ability to work in multiple projects. Demonstrates thorough understanding of life cycle development. Promote and follow the established processes, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and guidelines.

The individual will work on a project team responsible for developing and enhancing Home Depot's integration interfaces between Host Systems and 3rd party Warehouse and Transportation Management Systems. The individual must work well both in a team setting and individually.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
  • Overall 1-2 years of experience
  • BS computer science or related field
  • Experience with Manhattan Associates WMS, LMS or TMS is a plus
  • Experience in core Java, Java UI, HTML, XML, DB2, Oracle and eclipse. Unix scripting is a plus
  • Experience with Version control systems (Subversion, CVS, Clearcase, etc).
  • Familiarity with issue/task tracking tool (Jenkins, Splunk, etc)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical
  • Strong decision making abilities
  • Ability to communicate issues and recommend solutions
  • Experience in documenting requirements
  • Knowledge of life cycle methodologies


MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
-
  • Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
  • Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
  • Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management.
NATURE AND SCOPE -
  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
  • No direct responsibility for supervising others.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses
EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
