The SR Systems Engineer develops, maintains and supports The Home Depot's complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components. Operates as a team providing expert technical direction to team members. Interface with Business Stakeholders on all complex projects. Ability to present ideas and take charge & drive projects to success. Update management on all escalated issues.Role is responsible for the design, build and support of Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 and 2012 R2. Responsible for leading and working with a group of highly technical engineers on installers, packaging and deployment across the computing environment. Focusing in on technical aspects of task sequencing, configuration management, reporting, development, consulting with customers. Lead Engineer will be part of a team that develops and executes projects for clients across the enterprise.MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY-

  • Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software, hardware and infrastructure and user support for moderately complex projects. May oversee this effort if acting in team lead capacity.

  • Perform store & SSC engineering and roll-out implementation.

  • Perform configuration, debugging and support for infrastructure platform for moderately complex projects.

  • Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures.

  • Provide technical direction to System and Associate Engineers, Operations Specialists, and contractors.

  • Interface with Business Stakeholders on all applicable projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.

    NATURE AND SCOPE -

  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology

  • Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

    Must be eighteen years of age or older.
    Must pass the Drug Test.
    Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

    EDUCATION REQUIRED -

    The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

    YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

    Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -

    Knowledge and experience with computer hardware, operating systems and system software.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
    Minimum of 6 years of system administration/engineering experience in SCCM with an enterprise environment • Strong analytical & technical problem solving skills• Strong Communication Skills• Experience with SCCM2007 R2 & SCCM 2012 Architecture, Infrastructure, design, troubleshooting, development• Ability to create Advertisements/Collections/Packages/etc. within said products. Experience with Issue investigation and deep root cause analysis • Experience in deploying packages/updates in SCCM 2007 & SCCM 2012• Development and Scripting Experience (PowerShell, VB Script, WMI, Batch Files)• Strong Working expertise within Windows Enterprise Computing Environments (WinXP, Win7, Win8, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.)• Experience with process/procedure improvement and solution development, documentation, implementation.• Must be available on-call 24/7 with proven ability to work independently to research and develop solutions to new problems.• Ability to prioritize work activity and manage multiple tasks.• Experience in Retail Industry
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -

  • Solid knowledge of the PC (hardware and software) is essential.
