SUMMARY
Time Warner Cable ' s independent channel, cn2, has an immediate opening for a Senior Political Producer. Pure Politics is a daily political show that reaches nearly 600,000 homes in Kentucky. We are searching for a motivated, driven individual with a positive attitude who is genuinely excited by politics.
The ideal candidate will be able to develop enterprise stories on a government/political beat and produce those stories in a way that is compelling for our TV and web viewers. We are looking for someone with political television reporting and/or television news producer experience. Live experience is a plus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Writing and reporting on political content.
- Overseeing the graphics and visual elements of each show.
- Supervise editors, multi-media journalists.
- Work closely with the show ' s host and the show ' s director daily.
- Participate in daily planning sessions.
- Collaborate with the show ' s host on coverage and presentation of the day ' s program.
- Make contacts, gather information and arrange interviews.
- Make contributions to our website.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- BA or higher required.
- Must have Political Television reporting and/or television news producer experience.
- Must possess strong verbal, writing, shooting and editing skills.
- Must possess excellent internal and external customer relations skills.
- Must be able to see a project through from beginning to end without interruptions.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver ' s license and a satisfactory driving record.
