Maintenance Technician

Position is contingent upon award of the project

Essential Responsibilities:

Performs mechanical fabrication and assembly from sketches, drawings and other engineering documentation.

Assists in the installation, setup and checkout of major mechanical subsystems.

Performs complex mechanical setups and alignments.

Works with metal, fiberglass, composites and various other materials.

Performs layout and fabrication from engineering drawings and sketches.

Designs and fabricates test fixtures and jigs to support production.

Provides suggestions and expert advice for mechanical design solutions for production runs and prototypes.

Assists with integration and assembly of complex mechanical systems.

Performs installation of mechanical systems at customer site.

May apply paint and/or other protective coatings and finishes to fabricated assemblies and components.

May cut and assemble various types of metal piece parts into structures in accordance with engineering drawings and sketches.

Inspects completed work for conformance to drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Works inside and outside in various weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat.

Work around non-hazardous materials/waste lifting, stooping, crawling, bending, and carrying.

Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.

Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of a diploma from an accredited two-year technical mechanical institution coupled with 3 years job-related experience; or equivalent education/experience combination.

Must be capable of operating heavy equipment.

Must maintain a valid state driver license.

Currently holds or ability to successfully obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
