Purpose of role:

The Transition Management Intern is responsible for assisting with the organization, execution, and control of project activities as directed by the Project Management Office (PMO) and/or project assigned Project Manager (PM)/Transition Manager (TM). The intern must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite and two years of College level math the to effectively create, record, and communicate project status, risks, concerns, and escalations to teams, vendors, customers, and management as directed by the PMO/PM/TM.

Through structured direction, the Intern will be involved with initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/ controlling, and closing projects. The Intern will be required to assist with project/transition schedule development, tracking, and reporting to applicable team members, customers, and/or management. The Intern will also be required to set up, attend, record, and distribute/post notes and actions for project meeting as well as continual update/follow up, distribute and provide project status via action items logs, risks logs, Project Change Request logs and lessons learned templates. The Intern will assist/provide routine and/or adhoc project status/updates/presentations on a regular or as needed basis.

The Intern adheres to the established project management methodology and standards while carrying out responsibilities.

Scope of Role:

Autonomy – Works under general direction of management within a clear framework accountability. Assignments and prioritization of work are coordinated with management.

Complexity – Broad range of administrative and project management work activities, in a variety of contexts.

Major Responsibilities

Assessment and Selection

· Assist with the initiation, planning, transition, and transformation phases of projects as well as ensuring project governance via proper recording, reporting, and communication of the project.

Essential Project Coordinator Responsibilities

· Assist with Client Kickoff meeting preparation and follow up action items.

· Assist with project/transition schedule development, tracking, and reporting to applicable team members, customers, and/or management.

· Collect and enter project information and documentation into appropriate project management tools and templates and update/maintain as required.

· Track and monitor projects and provide current/up-to-date project status/reporting on a routine and/or as needed basis via phone, email, and/or presentation.

· Assist with communication planning and meeting cadence by completing applicable templates, contact lists, distribution lists, and setting up regular and adhoc team and/or project related meeting.

· Completion of notes and actions for all team/project meetings.

· Continual updating of current project information into project action item logs, risk logs, and/or lesson’s learned template as well as conduct applicable team/customer reviews of logs/templates.

· Appropriate distribution, posting and storage of all project data and information.

· Majoring in Business Administration, Computer Science or Engineering.

· Experience coordinating or leading projects which include scheduling and communication management.

· Self-Starter

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to multitask.

· Desire to learn about project management practices and working tools.

· Highly proficient in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
