Position Overview
The Warehouse Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and leading a portion of warehouse activity on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Lead is responsible for leading the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Qualifications
- The Warehouse Lead requires the ability to develop supervisory, in addition to warehousing experience. Familiarity with computers and material handling equipment is preferred.
- High school diploma is required.
- One to two years of warehouse experience.
- Shipping/Receiving - Lead and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and loading of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment.
- Participate in establishing work schedules. Ensure that schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
- Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation. Rotate product as appropriate.
