POSITION PURPOSE:

The person in this position is responsible for providing financial leadership to the manufacturing plant with primary focus on delivering reliable cost and variance analyses as well as budgets and forecasts linked to business objectives and strategies. The Plant Controller is responsible for maintaining a controlled environment that complies with the Company's internal control policies and Sarbanes Oxley regulations. The Plant Controller is expected to be a dynamic leader on the plant leadership team by contributing to all areas of plant management. This individual may also be responsible for leadership of non-financial plant administrative processes, including but not limited to, payroll, information systems, purchasing, and order fulfillment.


RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:


Participates in the development of operational objectives for the plant that are aligned with Corporate strategic objectives.

Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized.

Ensures there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.).

Ensures accountability for internal controls is clear and processes are documented.

Serves as a key project participant and subject matter expert for the ERP implementation - Identify critical team skills required to support the new system and assess gaps where such support is at risk.

Leads financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.

Prepares and delivers plant financial forecasts and projections.

Monitors monthly plant closing process in conjunction with Accounting processes and requirements.

Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel.

Provides risk analysis for contingency planning.

Provides in-depth analysis on actual performance variances to plan, forecast, and prior year.

Leads actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs.

Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized.

Monitor and reconcile inventories and establish proper reserves. Establish and maintain appropriate means to safeguard cash.

Monitor capital spending versus plan and forecast. Approve all capital AR's.

Assists in contract evaluation.

Educates plant personnel on key performance metrics and how each metric impacts financial results.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree required (Finance/Accounting preferred); CPA/MBA/CMA preferred 2. Work Experience: 5+ years of professional level experience providing financial leadership to organizations within a manufacturing environment—leading operations planning, savings, and forecasting and investment analysis is required 3. Skills (if applicable): • Dynamic, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to lead and develop others. • Ability to handle numerous projects at once, and meet crucial internal and external reporting deadlines. • Ability to interact on a daily basis with upper management. • Effective team builder. • Superior verbal and written communication skills. • Self-motivated and directed; ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. • Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills; detail oriented. • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under pressure. • ERP system required – SAP experience preferred/ • Intermediate/Advanced in MS Office 4. Physical Requirements • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours. • Must be able to lift 20 to 40 pounds. • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment. • 5.
