We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about data management and data analytics to support the PRISM (Provide Relationship Insight and Service Model) Team as the PRISM Analytics Specialist. The PRISM Analytics Specialist will lead the data analytics related to provide issue prevention and detection through the use of correlations, trends, predictive modeling, or other analytical tools/techniques as appropriate. 

The PRISM Analytics Specialist will report to the PRISM Analytics Manager, and collaborate with the PRISM Operations Quality Review and Reporting Specialist and other UHG teams (e.g. Enterprise Intelligence, Reporting, Decision Support), as applicable. This role will conduct data analytics on a variety of data sources to identify trends and recommend strategies for continual improvements of the prevention, detection and resolution processes for escalated/critical provider issues. This role will support the PRISM Analytics Manager in deploying the provider issue prevention, detection and resolution processes to other lines of business as appropriate, with a focus on the detection processes. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct data analysis to identify strategies to reduce the total number of provider issues that get escalated or are deemed critical
  • Develop insights from data analytics that could be incorporated into strategic recommendations for improving provider service experience and enhancing the prevention, detection and resolution quality, timeliness, accuracy and effectiveness of provider issues 
  • Perform data analytics and develop reports focused on detecting, preventing and resolving escalated/critical provider issues
  • Diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions for enhanced detection of escalated/critical provider issues through data analytics/management
  • Improve process flows by analyzed provider issue data and studying PRISM process flow charts; recommend modifications in PRISM process work flows and procedures
  • Prepare analytics-focused reports for use by the PRISM Analytics Manager and other UHG teams, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with the PRISM Analytics Manager and the PRISM Operations Quality Review and Reporting Specialist to identify critical data sets/points, and analyze data against the appropriate metrics and parameters
  • Anticipate provider issues through data analysis and proactively develop solutions/strategies to resolve them
  • Collect and analyze provider issue data for process improvements and decision making by the PRISM Team and UHG teams, as appropriate
  • Implement analytical plans and follow specified procedures for data collection and analysis, as set forth by the PRISM Analytics Manager

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of Healthcare industry experience
  • 2+ years of experience in data reporting, data management, analytics, or combination of thereof 
  • Previous experience and proficiency with writing and executing SQL queries with the ability to create table joints, design and populate reports within and between relational databases (i.e., SyBase, MS SQL Server, and Access) 
  • Knowledge and understanding of data structures and relationships 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Business Management/Administration
  • Previous experience in converting root cause data into preventative action
  • Knowledge/experience in Minitab or other
    statistical analysis tool/system
  • Previous experience with Tableau reporting Suites
