We are seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate RN to handle patient visits on a PRN basis for a variety of shifts for our Hospice patients including days, evenings, nights and weekends. As a Per Diem Hospice Nurse, you would work with a team of healthcare providers to ensure our Hospice patients (prognosis of 6 months or less) are receiving the right care. Additionally, you would provide emotional support to the patients' families. This position offers potential for growth, a friendly staff, and an opportunity to interact with patients and their families on a more personal level.

Please note: This is a per diem, field based position that requires local travel. We are adding a per diem RN to our St. Louis team as well as a per diem RN to our Washington team.  

Responsibilities for the Hospice Per Diem RN include (as needed):

• Conducting routine visits, admissions visits and follow up visits at a patient's home or nursing facility  


• Providing support and care to our patients, families and facilities during a patients transition to end of life


• Providing accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect plans of care


• Interacting with other group members such as CNA's, Chaplains, social workers, Physicians and dieticians


• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of biohazard materials


• Handling on call responsibilities on a rotating overnight schedule

Required Qualifications:

• RN licensure (current, unrestricted) in the state location of position


• 3 years of clinical experience


• Reliable transportation (including valid insurance and an active driver's license) and ability to travel within assigned territory

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills


• Experience in long-term care is a plus


• Computer proficiency is a must


• Home care experience


• Hospice care experience
