Are you an E-Learning Training and Development Specialist who has extensive experience creating, editing, updating, and maintaining training material? My client who has been in business for over 60 years is a highly innovative company and is considered a leader within their industry. This company is technology driven and the company designs, manufactures, and sells products used both in the residential and commercial markets. With operations in the Lehigh Valley this company also has a strong international presence as well.

In order to be successful in this position the Instructional Designer will have the following responsibilities;

  • Assist in the designing and developing of customized training programs for a variety of audiences using knowledge of training assets and audience types for a variety of modes (i.e., traditional classroom; live, on-line training; and self-paced, computerbased training).
  • Manage the process of quality assurance through testing and publishing of e-learning content via the learning management system.
  • Assist with administrative needs including research, compiling, formatting, proofing, and editing content.
  • Work with various subject matter experts to design, develop, and refine comprehensive training materials(including International products and initiatives) to drive customer adoption and success.
  • Assess the relevant characteristics of adult learners and their work settings.
  • Write performance-based objectives and performance measurements for each audience.
  • Evaluate content, audience, media requirements, and objectives to develop program specifications.
  • Design instructional materials and evaluation instruments enabling measurement and reporting on outcomes from evaluations.
  • Update online education portal- LCI Online- posting new content, updating existing online modules, and working with the various Business Units to develop
    new instructional modules, videos, and /or guides.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing and user experience teams to analyze target audiences and align learning to diverse needs.
  • Think creatively and innovatively about how to help unlock the value of our products for our customers, applying a solid understanding of learning principles and instructional design best practices.
  • Assist the learning team in evaluating data and improving educational offerings.
  • Ensure Learning and Development consistency (techniques, objectives, direction, etc.) is performed.
  • Recommend appropriate Learning and Development activities based on research.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to address any Learning and Development related deficiencies and propose learning initiatives to improve an employees or a
    customers performance.

The ideal Instructional Designer will have the following previous experience;

  • Bachelors Degree BA or BS in Instructional Design or Instructional Technology
  • 3+ years experience with instructional design for adult learners and e-learning instruction, preferably technology training at both the end user and administrator level.
  • Demonstrated prior experience with e-learning development and development tools like Articulate Storyline and Captivate.
  • Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint experience required. Experience with Flash, Dreamweaver, CourseBuilder, and/or HTML a plus.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills which result in easily understood work products and properly set expectations of all involved in projects.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills which allow the individual to balance multiple assignments and work under deadline constraints.
  • Familiarity with building system industry.
  • Strong drive to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and quickly-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with team members, customers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, developing, implementing and facilitating training solutions for varied adult learner audiences.
  • A passion for data-driven improvements to training programs and curricula.
