The Optum Payment Integrity Coordination of Benefits (COB) team helps our clients improve claim payment accuracy through the identification of other benefit coverage that has primary payment responsibility. Success is measured based on the financial success of achieving claims savings targets. 

The Trend Analytics team within COB Operations is responsible for utilizing data to maximize savings potential through strategic initiatives and implement controls to ensure accurate and timely delivery of scorecards. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Scorecard Publication
  
  
  
  • Ensure savings scorecards are delivered accurately and timely
  
  
  • Define & manage business requirements for all savings scorecards including change management and collaboration with IT team
  
  
  • Develop and maintain current savings report playbooks for each business segment to ensure cross functional clarity in savings report content, data sources and calculations.  Ensure content of playbooks align with released code


• Trend Analytics
  
  
  
  • Providing data support to achieve financial predictability
  
  
  • Analyzing savings report gap/gain from goal to identify activities necessary to ensure target success
  
  
  • Analyzing trends in overall demographics or other market variables impacting COB savings

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field; or equivalent work experience


• 3+ years of experience in business or financial analysis


• 1+ years of experience in healthcare environment


• 1+ years of experience analyzing data and communicating your findings


• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Payment Integrity


• Experience working with Coordination of Benefits


• Experience creating pivot tables in Excel


• Experience with SQL Server/Oracle development


• Self-starter that can work independently, as well as with the team


• Creative and Innovative thinker
