Job Description:
- Ensure the complete development of new products and improvements
- Create required CAD files - assembly models, part models, 2D drawings/diagrams
- Develop prototypes and perform necessary testing/validation
- Develop technical documentation/specifications to support business functions
- Create/maintain necessary part metadata in the ERP system (Item Master)
- Create/maintain parent/child relationships in the ERP system (BOMs)
- Create engineering change notices and field service reports
- Participate in development of department processes and procedures
- Develop new products meeting customer needs and company objectives
- Develop new processes in order to meet business objectives
- Assist in new product introduction processes
- Identify cost savings through design, material selection, and utilization
- Increase energy efficiency of existing products
- Improve safety levels in products and manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges related to design and assembly
- Create assembly and instructional drawings to aide in manufacturing
- Assist in creating marketing literature using specifications and CAD
- Assist in printing/plotting store plans from different different file types
- Assist in dynamic nesting in order to maximize material utilization
- Assist in scheduling and optimization of machine cells
- Advise engineering manager on computer equipment and software selection
- Advise drafters, interns, or other members of the team with CAD related issues
- Perform any other tasks requested by management as required
