Are you a manager and subject matter expertise in project management, scope definition, risk identification, methodology and resource allocation or facilitation? Lead and mentor a team on strategic initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups as a Manager of Project Management to coordinate and complete projects, define performance and results and manage vendors and service providers. Managers will determine time frames, funding needs, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, allotment of resources to various phases of projects and lead others in the organization to make meaningful process improvements.


 


Developing business plans and cost benefit analysis for assessment by Regional/Senior Leadership is required. You'll investigate non-standard requests and problems, makes presentations to senior leadership, ensure project documentation is accurate and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Pertinent data and facts will be reviewed to identify and solve issues and mitigate risks, prioritize your work load and work on ad hoc projects as assigned.


Primary Responsibilities:

Manages all aspects of large-scale business priority projects with significant financial impact

Establishes and promotes industry-recognized, best-in-class PMO and project management standards; evaluates and recommends project management tools and resources; and drives a program to ensure continued utilization and maturation of best practices

Participates with executive leadership to establish strategic plans and objectives.

Understands strategic priorities and implement effective solutions that support business priorities; think strategically and deliver tactically

Exercises judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Possesses the leadership and management skills to build a cohesive team of project management professionals who add value to each client engagement or cross-functional internal project by ensuring excellent communication, clear direction of objectives, milestones and timelines with a focus on budget, quality and cost.

Effectively performs project management role including utilization of support tools: Charter/Scope, Project Plan, IRAD/Issue Log, CBA, FMEA, Control Plan, Lessons Learned, Close Document, etc.

Manages multiple concurrent programs & projects, delivering implementations for clients and business partners across all Optum Payer products and services.

Interpersonal skills to influence and spur cultural change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment

Ability to gain acceptance for ideas, plans, actions and then implement flawlessly

Creates, build and maintain relationships that enhance corporate performance, establishing trust and credibility throughout the organization

Utilizes existing PMO structure and processes to manage programs & projects with appropriate level of rigor.

Accountable for creation of comprehensive project plans, encompassing both IT deliverables (if applicable) and business deliverables.

Leads development of business cases to support large capital projects.

Accountable for Financial Management through the lifecycle of project and managing budget expectations around savings and revenue.







Requirements

BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and/or equivalent education and experience.
5+ years of project management experience
5+ years experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions.
3+ years of supervisory experience
Actively pursuing PMP Certification
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
