The Operations Lead Developer will work with peers and other application developers to support production environments across the Home Depot enterprise. Required technical skills include: managing EAI systems like IBM WTX (formerly known as ‘Mercator') with integration experience with SAP using the SAP-XI components. Experience with SAP IDOCs, RFCs (BAPIs) and a general understanding or hands-on familiarity with the ABAP/4 programming language and the BASIS framework is preferred. Role requires effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate complex concepts in an understandable and concise manner, comfortable interacting at all levels (peer to leadership), strong leadership skills to drive execution, ability to organize and document information, a self-starter / motivated to identify and drive improvements without being prompted.

Additional roles and responsibilities listed below:

• Provide Level 3 support to internal business/corporate users for WTX, SCORE EAI and SAP XI applications
• Support training and development (mentor) middleware level 1 and 2 resources in the IT Operations Command Center.
• Work closely with business in managing day to day issues and resolving user queries
• Provide escalation support for level 1 and 2 associates during and after hours via call rotation
• Ability to communicate effectively and seamlessly work with different infrastructure (UNIX, DB, Storage, and Networking) /applications teams across the organization to resolve production issues
• Responsible for resolving user/system tickets created in Service-Now
• Leadership, self-starter and able to deal in ambiguous situations


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -



• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field is preferred
• 5-7 Years of hands on experience working with middleware integration platform like SAP Netweaver PI 7.3x/7.4x Java AAE (Advance Adapter Engine), IBM WTX (formerly known as ‘Mercator'), TIBCO and other related middleware integration technologies with real time and batch message processing and message delivery
• Experience with SAP PI Netweaver 7.3x/7.4x development area in Integration Repository (ESR), Integration Directory (Configuration), Adapter Configuration (SOAP, REST, IDOC, File and Email), PIMON (Message Monitoring) and SAP IDOC Monitoring, RFCs (BAPIs) and a general understanding or hands-on familiarity with the ABAP/4 programming language and the SAP BASIS
• Hands on experience and knowledge of standard internet protocols including HTTPS, SSL, Firewall, Ports, HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SFTP
• Understanding of the HTTP protocol and Service Orientated Architecture including load balancer technologies, DMZ, Cloud connection
• Experience with UNIX, Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems, VI editor, shell scripting technologies
• Developing SAP PI source-to-target mapping and business rules (e.g. transformation logic), UDF (User Defined Functions), PI Context and Queue in message mapping; Developing logical data integration models needed to fulfill the data integration requirements
• Strong knowledge of EDI Messages, XML, ALE, SAP IDOC and RFCs, X12 and EDIFACT
• Maintain system documentation and provide production metrics reporting
• Effectively perform and document root cause analysis utilizing error details and concluding the root cause of the error
• Understanding and knowledge on ITIL processes which involves Incident, Change and Problem management
• Performance management for applications with high transaction volumes, distributed applications supporting operational monitoring, load balancing, real time debugging, multi-threading, a sync communications, etc.
• Excellent problem solving skills and technical acumen in design and operations of high scale internet services
• A bias for rapid development, platform reusability, maintainability, and supportability
• Solid experience with the full development lifecycle from concept through delivery and on call 24x7 operations support

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • View software packages, products and define, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.
  • Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects.
  • Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.
  • Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.


NATURE AND SCOPE -

  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -


Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
