About this job

The Account Representative I is responsible for processing medical accounts. This position verifies eligibility, processes claim edits, processes new day claims, retrieves EOB and sorts and processes tracer responses. This position may provide both internal and external customer service.

A. Education

1. High School Diploma or GED

B. Experience

1. 1 year in business office, customer service experience

2. This position generally requires 1 years of the following:

· Medical claims billing experience

· Experience in denials and appeals

· Customer service experience

C. Skills:

1. This position generally requires a demonstrated ability to:

· Communicate effectively with others

· Perform basic mathematical calculations

· Possess basic clerical duties and prepare correspondence utilizing proper syntax, grammar and punctuation

· Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently work with a filing system

· Work in a Microsoft environment, including Outlook

· Operate general office equipment, including a calculator, fax and copy machine, and a personal computer with internet use

2. Ability to work well with others in a team environment

3. Ability to maintain confidentiality

4. Ability to multi-task, produce quality work and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

5. Excellent customer service skills
