Lab Technician

JOB DUTIES:
- 70% of the work will be hands on performing various tests in the materials lab. This includes the testing of concrete, soils, aggregate, asphalt, and other construction related materials. Most common laboratory testing is of hardened concrete samples (10lbs typically) performing gradations, hydrometer readings, and proctor testing on soil samples.
- 20% of the time is recording accurate notes during testing and preparing reports in Excel or Word formats for review.
- 10% of the lab technicians time would be spend on job-sites performing hands on tests of soils and fresh concrete, often assisting other field technicians.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- This position will be working in the lab at the office. Will be the only lab technician in the lab so it will be a lot of working by independently. The office has about 5-6 employees and about 10-20 field technicians coming and going. Will be standing on feet all day while performing the tests. This is a dirty environment so candidates must be OK with getting their clothes dirty.

SKILLS:
- No laboratory or materials testing certifications/experience required. They will train the suitable candidate.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean organized work environment is required.
- Multitasking and time management skills are required
- Basic computer knowledge.
