About this job

Creative and detail-oriented individual with outstanding communication skills to fill the role of Communications Assistant for small company in Silver Spring.. 15-20 hours per week.  Work three days per week; any hours between 9am-5pm.


Responsibilities:
 
  • Produce bi-monthly employee newsletter
  • Conduct Employee of the Month/Year Interviews
  • Create and/or update materials, including office documents, presentations, flyers, etc.
  • Design promotional products (e.g., pens, nail files, displays) and work with vendors
  • Update Company website, Facebook, and Employee Intranet
  • Send mass emails to field employees and office staff
  • Photograph office events, trainings, and staff portraits
  • Come up with new ideas to expand online presence
  • Research technical solutions to help improve the efficiency of office
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher
  • Background in Communications, Public Relations, and/or Design
  • Team player and ability to work independently
