POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the Americas Full Service Finance department, the Business Analyst will report to the Manager, Americas Administration. He /she will provide primarily support for the Americas across all brands in CAPEX and Operating Budget & Forecasting and Above Property Administrative functions. He/she will also support to key finance initiatives and reporting processes within the Americas. He/she will focus on ensuring consistency and best practices in analysis across the continent across all brands, also in supporting other essential system initiatives.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION

  • Partner with Americas Full Service and SS/ES teams to support major initiatives and reporting & analysis functions to our key stakeholders that consist of Marriott Senior Leadership and high profile ownership groups.
  • Support of Full Service and SS/ES CAPEX Budget process by reviewing annual CAPEX guidelines and property capital plans, consolidating CAPEX results and preparing associated reporting to key internal Senior Leaders and various ownership groups.
  • Partnering with Americas team to support the Americas Admin budget process to provide training to stakeholders, support on-going budget questions, review budget plans and develop associated Senior Leadership reporting.
  • Provide ongoing monthly CAPEX and Operating support to the team by maintaining coverage of Americas Budget and Forecasting mailbox, provide reporting and transactional support to stakeholders when requested, and assisting in updating data in essential Americas system platforms.
  • Collaborate with Accenture's Capital Accounting and Administration team to ensure that information needs are met and that capital processes are working effectively.
  • Work with Americas Administration team on a monthly basis to handle program and initiative billing, balance sheet and billing reconciliations, new department head training, and monthly report support.
  • Prepare Americas reporting and analysis for hotels across the continent, across all brands on a monthly/period/quarterly basis (e.g. roll-ups, exception reporting), and provide ongoing analytical support our key stakeholders in the continent:
  • Create or utilize reports to assist in proactively monitoring financial control environment.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to Americas Finance, MBS, and other associated groups on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.
  • Work with other Americas FS team members on major department deliverables to ensure overall success of the team.
  • Provide information as needed to the continent leaders and other Americas leadership on the business environment and key operating issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.



CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
  • Marriott experience as a hotel Assistant Controller a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures, and techniques of accounting, and of financial records and transactions including, but not limited to, generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong communications (verbal and written), organization and presentation skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel required
  • Knowledge of operating procedures, controls and governances
  • Ability to leverage resources in the accomplishment of objectives
  • Exceptional organizational skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments. Project management skills
